Dandelion Tea Oat Vanilla Latte (Printable view)

Roasted dandelion blends with oat milk and vanilla for a cozy, caffeine-free beverage.

# What You Need:

→ Dandelion Tea

01 - 2 tablespoons roasted dandelion root, loose or in tea bags
02 - 2 cups water

→ Latte Base

03 - 2 cups oat milk, barista-style preferred
04 - 1 tablespoon maple syrup or preferred sweetener
05 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
06 - Pinch cinnamon, optional

# How To Make:

01 - In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups water to a boil. Add roasted dandelion root or tea bags, reduce heat, and simmer for 5–7 minutes. Strain tea if using loose root.
02 - Heat oat milk in a separate saucepan over medium-low until steaming, being careful not to boil. Whisk in vanilla extract, maple syrup, and cinnamon if using.
03 - Froth heated oat milk mixture using a milk frother or whisk until velvety and foamy.
04 - Transfer dandelion tea into two mugs. Pour frothed oat milk mixture over the tea, spooning extra foam on top.
05 - Sprinkle additional cinnamon over latte tops if desired. Serve immediately while hot.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It's as comforting as your favorite coffee shop treat, minus the caffeine jitters.
  • The oat milk and vanilla turn the dandelion root into something lush and indulgent, perfect for winding down.
02 -
  • Letting the oat milk go past steaming can give it an odd flavor and dull the foam—watch closely!
  • Using a frother transforms the texture, but a whisk can work if you’re patient, just whisk vigorously in circles.
03 -
  • Always strain loose dandelion root thoroughly for a silky result; any bits left behind can distract from the smoothness.
  • A splash of vanilla added right before serving lifts the aroma even more.
