# How To Make:

01 - Place 6 slices of salami in a slightly overlapping straight line on a clean work surface, overlapping each slice by approximately one third.
02 - Starting at one end, gently roll the slices into a tight spiral, stand upright and loosen petals to create a rose shape.
03 - Repeat the arrangement with 6 pepperoni slices to prepare for rolling.
04 - Roll and shape the pepperoni slices as done with the salami to create a pepperoni rose.
05 - Prepare a second set of each, resulting in 3 salami and 3 pepperoni roses.
06 - Optionally place fresh basil or baby arugula leaves at the base of each porcelain teacup.
07 - Carefully position each meat rose inside a teacup, adjusting petals to appear full and natural.
08 - Optionally tuck a small edible flower alongside each rose for decoration.
09 - Place the teacups on a serving board and surround with optional crackers, cheeses, and fruits.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • They look impossibly elegant but require zero cooking skills, just patience and a steady hand.
  • Your guests will photograph these before eating them, guaranteed.
  • You can make them hours ahead, which means less stress when people arrive.
02 -
  • If your slices tear while rolling, don't panic; use a slightly damaged one as a middle layer and cover it with a perfect slice on the outside.
  • Chilled meat is sturdier and easier to roll than room-temperature meat, so keep your slices in the fridge until the moment you need them.
03 -
  • Salami and pepperoni from the deli counter, sliced to order, give you far better control than pre-packaged slices.
  • If you're short on porcelain teacups, small bowls or even vintage-looking glasses work beautifully and might actually feel less precious, more inviting.
