# How To Make:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, approximately 3-4 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Add flour mixture in three alternating additions with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
- Divide batter evenly among prepared pans and smooth tops with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center emerges clean.
- Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add vanilla and salt, then incorporate milk a little at a time until frosting reaches smooth, spreadable consistency.
- Divide frosting into 4 bowls. Tint each with blue gel food coloring, creating a gradient progression from pale to deep ocean blue.
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread with a thin layer of the lightest blue frosting. Repeat layering with remaining cake layers.
- Using an offset spatula, frost the sides and top of the cake, starting with the lightest shade at the top and gradually transitioning to the deepest blue at the base, blending colors where they meet for an ombre effect.
- Decorate with white chocolate seashells, edible glitter, and sprinkles as desired.
- Refrigerate cake for 30 minutes before slicing for optimal presentation and texture.
