06 - 1/2 cup boiling water
07 - 1 cup sweetened condensed milk

09 - 1 cup boiling water
10 - 1/2 cup cold water

→ Optional Garnish

11 - Whipped cream
12 - Fresh blueberries
13 - Fresh strawberries

# How To Make:

01 - Arrange eight clear cups (6–8 oz each) for building the layered dessert.
02 - In a mixing bowl, dissolve the strawberry or cherry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved, then add 1/2 cup cold water. Distribute evenly among prepared cups (approximately 2 tablespoons per cup). Tilt cups in a muffin tin for angular effect and refrigerate for 45–60 minutes, or until set.
03 - In another bowl, evenly sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and allow to bloom for 5 minutes. Add 1/2 cup boiling water, stirring until gelatin is dissolved. Mix in sweetened condensed milk and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
04 - Retrieve cups with set red layer. Carefully pour the white gelatin mixture atop the red layer (about 2 tablespoons per cup). Place cups upright and chill for 45–60 minutes, or until firm.
05 - Dissolve blue raspberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved, then blend in 1/2 cup cold water. Allow mixture to cool to room temperature.
06 - When the white layer is firm, gently add blue gelatin mixture on top (approximately 2 tablespoons per cup). Keep cups upright and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, or until thoroughly set.
07 - Just before serving, top layered cups with whipped cream and sprinkle with fresh blueberries and strawberries, as desired.

  • If you don’t let each layer fully set, the stripes will blur and ruin the effect—I learned this with a runny batch that turned purple.
  • Pouring Jello that’s too warm onto the previous layer will melt it—always let the mixture cool to room temperature first.

  • If you spill a layer, don’t panic—a thin spatula can tidy up most messes before it sets.
  • A drop of lemon juice in the white layer heightens flavor and keeps it from being too sweet.
